The Canadian Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development is inviting input on RSS-247, issue 3, which addresses "Digital Transmission Systems (DTSs), Frequency Hopping Systems (FHSs) and Licence-Exempt Local Area Network (LE-LAN) Devices."

This standard outlines the requirements for certifying radio equipment that uses frequency hopping, digital modulation, or both techniques in the 902-928 MHz, 2400-2483.5 MHz, and 5725-5850 MHz bands, as well as for LE-LAN devices in the 5150-5250 MHz, 5250-5350 MHz, 5470-5725 MHz, 5725-5850 MHz, and 5850-5895 MHz bands.

ISED's primary interest is in gathering feedback on the requirements for the 5850-5895 MHz band, which are associated with the publication of SMSE 012-22 Decision on the Technical and Policy Framework for Radio Local Area Network Devices in the 5850-5895 MHz Band and for Intelligent Transportation Systems in the 5895-5925 MHz Band. Comments are requested to be submitted by May 3rd, 2023.
